Counselor
My family and I moved to Boise from Astoria, OR in 2020, when the world shut down. We had spent 10 wonderful years on the Oregon coast but got so saturated with rain that the high desert summoned us. I have balanced most of my career life as a high school English teacher and Counselor of some sort. I've been fortunate to have had several experiences in educational settings. After college I taught in Austria for two years, then I moved to Chicago where I worked with inner-city schools on implementing tutoring programs. That position took me to Los Angeles, before landing in San Antonio where I taught 5 years of English. The heat drove us to the aforementioned rain where we spent a decade of teaching and counseling in Astoria. Now we are in lovely Boise. I have a private practice called Trailworks Counseling that offers the foothills as an "office" setting. Coming to One Stone has rejuvenated my interest in working with adolescents. This unique setting is a wonderful way to begin each day - I love the energy, creativity and power of student input. This grounds me before heading for my daily hikes, and I get to learn from the bright minds who'll shape our future. You can find my family of four at Bogus regularly snowboarding or mountain biking.
